Black and white stripes always make a classic statement, and I have an inkling that they are especially on the rise in the fashion/decor world this year! Not yet overly used – but very fashionable – this is the perfect answer to a decor what-to-do. Black and white stripes for 2010: you heard it here first! 😉
This whole ensemble works beautifully for a couple of reasons: first, in delightful contrast to the “cool” black and white, the gold flatware and bright florals warm up the look and make it welcoming. Secondly, because black and white match with nearly everything, the mix of tones in the objects — the clear glasses, gold flatware, silver centerpiece — creates an ecclectic and complimentary combination that plays perfectly off of the b&w duo.
My favorite part of this combo (in addition to the candles and flowers) is the mix of antique-looking, taupe chairs with the modern black and white table cloth. Again, anything looks good with black and white, so this is a great exemplifier that straying from the obvious may lead to something good.
As you can see here, black and white lines can be very refreshing!
Another fabulous mix of textures and colors here. I love the raw wood beams in contrast/combination with the sophisticated b&w in the decor elements.
Our Awning Stripe linen! This is such a versatile linen, we have had it used for everything from weddings to outdoor BBQ’s!
